Part-time Administrative Assistant

Immediate vacancy for a part-time administrative assistant for the Mayville Police Department.

The position requires proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent typing skills, ability to read and edit reports for grammatical/spelling proficiency, answer telephone, cash handling, data entry, and use of office equipment. The applicant must have strong written and oral communication skills, work well with little supervision, be detail oriented and able to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.

Flexible schedule of 20-30 hours per week. The hourly wage is $17.00-$19.00 per hour based on qualifications. Applicants will be required to pass a stringent background check, typing test, and drug test.

Internships (unpaid)

Through the Student Intern Program, the department builds partnerships with area colleges and universities. The department benefits, along with the student interns, from shared educational experiences.

Temporary / Seasonal (paid)

Adult school crossing guards play an important role in the lives of school children who walk or bicycle to school. They help children safely cross the street at key locations. The crossing guards are funded through the police department.

Community Service Officer (unpaid)

The Community Service Officer (CSO) program is designed to provide citizens and students with a learning experience while enhancing the MPD's service to the community.

The Mayville Police Department fundraisers would not be possible without the assistance of volunteers, who assist the police department with several programs including Youth Dances and our Citizens Police Academy.
