FIREWORKS ARE ILLEGAL

There is always confusion regarding
the purchase and use of fireworks. Most sellers require
the purchase of a permit at the time of sale. This
permit is for the possession of fireworks only and
does not permit the use of fireworks.
The City of Mayville
Prohibits the use of Class A, B & most Class C
Fireworks within city limits
No Permit Needed And No Age
Restriction (unless by local ordinance):
Sparklers, stationary cones and fountains, toy snakes,
smoke bombs, and caps, noisemakers and confetti poppers
with less than ¼ of a grain of explosive mixture
are legal without permits, unless restricted by local
ordinances.
Valid Permit Required, Group Use Only, No
Use By Minors or Individuals:
All other fireworks, including roman candles, firecrackers,
bottle rockets, mortars etc.--anything that explodes
or leaves the ground--is illegal except for groups
with permits.
The use of Fireworks are not permitted in the City
of Mayville. A fireworks users permit may be obtained
from city hall by the Mayor or other official designated
by the Mayor. A certificate of liability insurance
in the minimum amount of $2,000,000 shall be required
prior to the issuance of the permit. Without this
permit, any use of fireworks in the City of Mayville
is prohibited.

up or blows up, it's illegal.
Use of fireworks in
the City of Mayville may result in the seizure of
the fireworks or the issuance of a municipal citation,
or both.
The fine amount for
the use of fireworks within city limits is $186.00
- $367.00
The use of fireworks could cause property damage,
personal injury or death. Please be responsible and
leave the fireworks to the professionals.
